Funeral
services for Mrs. Julia Lee Akers, 87 years old, 3815 West Michigan Street will
be at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Conkle Speedway Funeral Home. Burial will be at
Roachdale in Putnam County. Mrs. Akers, who was born in Putnam County died
Tuesday in her home. A member of the Primitive Baptist Church she lived in
Indianapolis since 1921. She and her husband, Joseph A. Akers, had celebrated
their 70th wedding anniversary Aug 17. Survivors besides the husband
include two sons, Austin D. and Jesse A. Akers and a brother, Elmer Watson, all
of Indianapolis; a sister, Mrs. Mattie Stevenson of Greencastle; six
grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. - kbz
